Inspiration for Anyone

November 28, 2018

It's a very busy time of year for all of us, so I'm sure you'll forgive this short post whose first impression may come off as lazy. But, this post is as much for me as it is for it's readers. This succinct little post will snuggle my favorite inspirational quotations, and—in one very special case—a poem in one place.

If you ever need a pick-me-up, come on back and give these positive words a read. They have and continue to help me. Three of them have even been made into printed artwork for my future home office.

At the risk of looking like a collection of lame posters that hang in most cubicle infested work spaces, I present to you my favorite inspirational lines.

  • “The scariest moment is always just before you start.”

― Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

I've referenced this one before in my post, "4 Books That Made me a Better Writer"

  • “Get busy living or get busy dying.”

― Stephen King, Different Seasons

To the point, which is why I like it.

  • “It is perfectly okay to write garbage—as long as you edit brilliantly.”

― C. J. Cherryh

  • “It always seems impossible until it's done.”

― Nelson Mandela

  • “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

― Confucius

  • “If you can dream it, you dan do it.”

― Walt Disney

  • “Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?”

― A.A. Milne

Words can't explain how much I love the quotation. That being said, the following line spells out why.

  • “The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them.”

― Stephen King

  • And finally, here is the poem that hit me right in my heart:
